Alexandra Seaton, a senior partner at Wilson Christen, has extensive expertise as a trial lawyer on all issues in family law. She has a special interest and sensitivity in dealing with issues involving children. Her skills and interests extend to the forensic tracing necessary to determine accurate levels of support and property division in the most complicated of matters.
Over her 26 years of practice, Alexandra has developed strong and unique problem solving approaches to lasting resolutions. She utilizes all manner of dispute resolution. Her Court work provides a strong backdrop for assisting and molding partial and final resolutions for parties. Alexandra is cognizant of the damage that can be done from the ongoing conflict arising from familial disputes. Her mantra to all clients it to try to resolve matters sooner than later for the sake of the family unit.
She works in a team approach with a long term assistant, Melanie Filiatrault, and a law clerk. She often has the assistance of very competent work from her colleagues in the firm. By this team approach she ensures that your matter is dealt with in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Alexandra has litigated at every level of the Ontario Courts on all issues of family law. She graduated from the University of Ottawa (Common Law) in 1987 and was admitted to the Bar in 1989. She has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Alberta. She spent her early years summering as a gardener at a Canadian Zoo.
Alexandra maintains several professional memberships. She has lectured at the Institute for Family Law, the Special Lectures at the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Family Law Bar in Ottawa and has been a facilitator/presenter for the Family Information Sessions. She has had many reported decisions over the course of her career.
