Award Winning Family Law

Andrew Vankoughnett LL.B.

Andrew Vankoughnett’s practice encompasses all areas of family law including property and support claims as well as custody and access disputes. Andrew prides himself in his ability to manage client expectations and obtain results that are realistic and cost effective. When necessary, Andrew is a fearless litigator who has seen much success in the courtroom.

Andrew obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University in 2006 and graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 2014. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2015. While at Law School, Andrew was a Case Worker at the Western Business Law Clinic and was a researcher and writer for Professor Richard H. McLaren.

Prior to attending Law School, Andrew worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years, 5 of which he was the general manager of a successful and well known banquet hall in Kingston. Andrew’s time in the hospitality industry has made him adept at building networks, maintaining client relationships and managing his client’s expectations. Andrew’s business experience is invaluable to his practice.

Prior to joining Wilson Christen in June 2017, Andrew was employed by a sole practitioner in Richmond Hill where he exclusively practiced family law. In this position, Andrew autonomously managed numerous files with success and gained valuable experience in family law and extensive experience in courtrooms of many jurisdictions.

In his spare time, Andrew mainly enjoys travelling, playing the drums, attending concerts and learning about music. Andrew’s dream is to one day share a Bitburger with Dave Grohl.
