Maryellen Symons
Mary Ellen TTL As counsel to Wilson Christen LLP since 2000, Maryellen puts her advanced skills in legal analysis, research and writing at the service of the firm and its clients.

She brings a deep and broad legal background to the firm as a former Law Clerk at the Ontario Court of Appeal and legal editor at Butterworths Canada.

Maryellen contributes to Jeffery Wilson’s looseleaf publication, Wilson on Children and the Law, and is the updating author of the Ontario Annotated Family Law Service (Butterworths). She has written for Money and Family Law and other publications, and organizes and speaks at continuing legal education programs. Through the Ontario Bar Association, Maryellen has helped prepare submissions to the Law Commission of Ontario and the Provincial government on family law reform issues.

Maryellen was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1989 after receiving her LL.B. from the University of Windsor. Previously, she obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa; M.A. from the University of Toronto; and B.A. from Barnard College (Columbia University).
