Helping people to help themselves is what lawyers do, and Wilson Christen LLP has a long tradition of doing just that. From its inception more than 20 years ago, the firm has been recognized as a leading advocate.

Wilson Chisten LLP led the way for the NGO submissions in Geneva to the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the occasions of Canada's first reporting of compliance under the international Convention on the Rights of the Child. European media extensively covered the content of the submission.

At home, Wilson Christen LLP’s advocacy in protecting the rights of two children engulfed in a battle on the meaning of "attachment" was covered in various media outlets. Senior Partners Brenda Christen and Jeffery Wilson have regularly been mentioned as National Post "Best Lawyers" in family law in Canada.

Wilson Christen LLP has been frequently cited in coverage surrounding appropriate child and spousal support when wealth exists but is hidden. The rising issue of "parental alienation" also commands regular commentary from the firm.

Two of Wilson Christen LLP’s many high-profile cases have been covered nationally and internationally. One being the first ever case of an internationally adopted child sent back and suing for damages 15 years later; and the other being the inaugural action on whether historical loss of culture for First Nations children is a wrongful act under the law.

As well, Toronto Life profiled the investigation of racial discrimination at an elite private school - a case in which Wilson Christen LLP acted as the plaintiff family’s lead counsel.

Wilson Christen LLP also regularly appears in Ontario Family Law REPORTER, a monthly digest of key court decisions and commentary.
