Rui Alves TTL Rui J. M. Alves brings a broad civil litigation background to his practice, providing his clients with strategic advice in order to obtain optimal results in their family law matter.

In addition to attending at all levels of Court in Ontario and drafting complex agreements, Rui carries on a Wills and Estates practice. Rui’s experience in the Wills and Estates field, as well as his familiarity with civil litigation, corporate, trusts, real estate, employment, criminal, immigration and administrative law is valuable to the firm and its clients. Rui also serves as a mentor to other lawyers and law students, providing advice and guidance on an informal basis.

Rui is a member of the Osgoode Hall Alumni Mentor Program, Collaborative Practice Toronto, the Canadian/Ontario Bar Association, the Toronto Lawyers Association, Portuguese-Canadian National Congress, the Federation of Portuguese Canadian Business & Professionals and the Portuguese Canadian Lawyers Association.

Rui has also been Certified as a Collaborative Practice Lawyer.

Rui completed his undergraduate study at York University (Glendon College) in 1991. He received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1994, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996.

Rui is the recipient of the Osgoode Hall Alumni Mentor Program’s “Mentor of the Year” Award for 2009/2010.
